Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Your Account
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) protects your Case IQ account with an additional layer of verification. When logging in to Case IQ, you can verify your identity by entering a code from your mobile device. If MFA has been configured for your application, you can set up MFA for your Case IQ account the first time you log in.
To set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your account:
1. If this is your first time logging into Case IQ, find the "Password Generated" and "New Password" messages sent to your email from Case IQ. The "Password Generated" email contains your username and a link to your Case IQ application. The "New Password" email includes your temporary password to log in to Case IQ. Click the link in the "Password Generated" email to navigate to your application.

2. On your application's Login page, enter your username and password. If this is your first time logging in, copy your username from the "Password Generated" email and your temporary password from the "New Password email. Then, click the Sign In button.

3. You will now see a QR code to set up MFA for your Case IQ account. Open your authenticator app on your mobile device and add an account. For most authenticator apps, you will see an option to scan the QR code with your device.

If you cannot scan the QR code, click "Set up manually" in Case IQ to see your account's name, key, and type. Enter the name, key, and type in your authenticator app to add your account.

Your authenticator app will now show you a 6-digit code every 30 seconds for your Case IQ account, which you can use to verify your log in session.
4. Click the Continue button in Case IQ after adding an account in your authenticator app.

5. On the Verification Required page, enter the 6-digit code shown in your authenticator app for your Case IQ account. This code will be valid for 30 seconds. Then, click the Verify button.

6. Case IQ will now show your account's 5 backup codes. If you cannot access your mobile device or authenticator app, you can use one of these codes to log in to Case IQ. See How do I sign in with a backup code? for details. On the Backup Codes page, you can copy, download, or print your backup codes. Keep these backup codes in a secure place. We highly recommend storing your backup codes in a password manager if your organization uses one.
After saving your backup codes, click Done. You will now be logged in to Case IQ and can use MFA for your account.

If this is your first time logging in to Case IQ, make sure to change your password, as the temporary password sent to your email will expire in one day. See full instructions in Change your Password.
